Aquaphor for Diaper Rashes - My Honest Review

Aquaphor for Diaper Rashes - My Honest Review

As I’ve mentioned before, I’m working toward transitioning to more low-tox products but it’s a process. While I haven’t found the perfect low-tox diaper rash cream just yet (I’ll be sure to update once I do!), I wanted to take a moment to share what I currently use and love.

The Aquaphor Baby Healing Ointment paired with the Aquaphor Baby Diaper Rash Cream has been a lifesaver when my little one gets a rash. These two products are staples in my diaper bag, and for good reason.

How I Use Them

When a rash appears, I apply the Aquaphor Diaper Rash Cream first, directly on the affected area. Then, I follow up with a layer of the Aquaphor Healing Ointment on top. While my baby can’t tell me exactly how she feels, I can tell the diaper rash cream helps soothe the irritation, while the ointment creates a protective barrier to keep moisture from making things worse.

What Triggers Rashes for My Baby

Every baby is different (as I’m sure you’ve heard!), but for my little one, certain foods almost guarantee a rash. Her biggest triggers?

•Black olives (yes, she loves them!)

•Mandarin oranges (another favorite)

•Pickles

I know acidic foods can alter the pH of urine, but in her case, the reaction is fast within two hours, she’s uncomfortable, and the rash is painful. That’s where these Aquaphor products have been a huge help.

Are These Products Low-Tox?

No, Aquaphor isn’t considered a low-tox brand, mainly because it contains petroleum-based ingredients. But for me, it’s still worth having on hand for situations where a quick, effective solution is needed.

That said, I’m still searching for a great low-tox alternative! If you’ve found a diaper rash cream that works well for your little ones, I’d love to hear your recommendations. I’m especially eager to try something new with baby #2 arriving in April!

Would I Recommend It?

Absolutely. These products are:

✅ Great for baby shower gifts

✅ Perfect for diaper bag restocks or nursery essentials

✅ Helpful for rashes, itchiness, and redness

✅ The ointment is also amazing for dry, irritated skin

If you’re in the same boat and still searching for the best low-tox options, let’s share ideas! Until then, I’ll keep these in my diaper bag for those emergency situations.
